Database licences types

The right licence type for your organisation depends on a number of factors. The main determining factors are the number of users, the number of computers or servers, the number of offices, and/or the total number of countries you want to use the information in. For this purpose, there are 6 licence types:

  • International licence

  • Multinational licence

  • National licence

  • Single site licence

  • Single server licence

  • Single user licence

International licence

The International Licence allows for databases to be downloaded and used by an unlimited number of your named users or internal applications, including those of subsidiaries. The databases may be used worldwide. The Licence may not be shared outside your named user' group and company.

Multinational licence

The Multinational Licence allows for databases to be downloaded and used by an unlimited number of your named users or internal applications, including those of subsidiaries. The databases may be used within a group of up to 5 named countries. The Licence may not be shared outside your named users group and group of countries.

National* licence

The National Licence allows for databases to be downloaded and used by an unlimited number of your named users or internal applications, including those of subsidiaries. The databases may be used on an unlimited number of servers at up to 5 sites within 1 country. Each site may be comprised of up to 5 office locations within 1 larger urban zone or functional urban area. The Licence may not be shared outside your named users group and country.
*) The area of an economic union (e.g. EU, EAEU, and CSME) is considered as a single country

Single site licence

The Single Site Licence allows for databases to be downloaded and used by an unlimited number of your named users or internal applications, neither being part of your subsidiaries. The databases may be used on up to 5 servers at 1 site. The site may be comprised of up to 5 office locations within 1 larger urban zone or functional urban area. The Licence may not be shared outside your named users group and site.

Single server licence

The Single Server Licence allows for databases to be downloaded and used by no more than 5 of your named users or internal applications, neither being part of your subsidiaries. The databases may only be used in 1 of your office locations. The Licence may not be shared outside your named users group and office location.

Single user licence

The Single User Licence allows for databases to be downloaded and used by no more than 1 named user and 1 internal application. The Licence may not be shared with anyone else.
